India's N-conduct is 'superior'

The nuclear conduct of India is far better than the NSG members over the atomic proliferation, said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Madhya Pradesh president and MP Nandkumar Singh Chouhan.

Chouhan in a statement here on Monday said, “India had entered into 123 nuclear agreement with USA in 2008 only and the Indian nuclear conduct is far better than the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) members. In this manner India meets all the conditions necessary for being the NSG member.”

Chouhan further said that the members who have signed Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT) have violated most the commitment for nuclear proliferation. And in such conditions when our foreign policy is that of nuclear proliferation than it becomes meaningless for India to sign the NPT and there remains no justification of NPT, he added.

He said that the big success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue is that the USA that constituted NSG after India’s atomic test in 1974 and isolated India. In 2008 India did nuclear agreement with the USA and it got the permission to import Uranium.

But with the constitution of Modi government in 2014 the attitude of USA changed and the very same USA that constituted NSG satisfied with the nuclear conduct of India appealed other NSG members to make NSG member. USA president Barrack Obama assured PM Modi over the issue, he added.

He said that India was considered suitable by every mean for the membership of the NSG but it is the ill luck of the country that those who violated the NPT are afraid of our membership and that is why created hurdles in our way of becoming NSG member.
