The 156th edition of the Mahindra Great Escape, one of India’s most popular off-roading adventures, concluded successfully here on Sunday with over 12 vehicles from the Mahindra stable maneuvering the challenging route.

The rally was flagged off at 9.30 am on Sunday from Grace Resorts, Adjacent to Bhopal-Indore Express Way, Konajheer on Sehore-Ichhawar Road.

Participants entered the event in Boleros, Scorpios and Thar 4X4s- proving yet again the ruggedness of vehicles from the Mahindra stable.

Known as one of India’s greenest cities, Bhopal offered some of the most scenic lakes, the Upper Lake and the Lower Lake. On the banks of the Upper Lake is Van Vihar National Park, home to tigers, lions and leopards.

The city is also blessed with state museum, which has fossils, paintings and rare Jain sculptures. Bhopal also has a unique landscape, which ensured that there were ample challenges for all off-roading enthusiasts.

Aquib Khan grabbed the first place in the Stock category and Bijender Singh won the Modified category, while Arvind Reddy emerged as the runner up in the Modified category and Nipun Agrawal emerged as the First Runner-up in the Stock category.

The first season of the Off-Roading Trophy, Mahindra’s all-India off-road championship was held in Goa in 2012. The winners of the Hyderabad Off-Roading Trophy Round are set to compete against the winners from other Great Escapes at the grand finale which will be held at the Mahindra Adventure Off-Road Training Academy, in Igatpuri. The winners in turn will stand a chance to win a new Thar CRDe.
