indi play Commando captivates

The theatre buffs of the city witnessed the life of a soldier through a Hindi play Commando. Directed by a renowned theatre director Tariq Daad, the play is written by Ved Rahi. The play was splendidly performed by the artistes of Koshish Natya Sanstha, Bhopal on Thursday at Shaheed Bhavan Auditorium.

Notably, the story is about a man, who willingly or unwillingly entered the world of army men, fights, wars and bloodshed. Strongly conceptualised, and maintaining the vision behind, this was the first show of the play. The play begins with the war scene on stage. At the end of the war, the commandos escaped. During this, a journalist arrives at the scene for the coverage and there he meets five to six commandos, who just escaped from the war scene.

The journalist gets into a very serious and deep conversation with the commandos. During the conversation, he collided with the lead actor of the play. When he begins talking with the soldier, he discovered that this man had a strong reason to join the army.

Slowly and gradually, the journalist discloses his story, which was eventually the love story. The story revolves around the commando when years ago, he was in love with a girl. But due to few circumstances, they could not get married and as a result of it, he joined the army.

The commando again and again urges the journalist to make a documentary over his story so that the people can listen to his story. The play ends on a very emotional note, which actually highlighted the emotions of a soldier. The conclusion of the play left everyone’s eyes filled with tears.

The use of levels for the performance and a sensible use of background sets, soothing and modern lighting technique and a sensible use of curtains enhanced the performance of the artistes. Further, the emotional fillers in between the play added more fanaticism in the performance leaving the audience awestruck.
