MINister seeks reopening of dumper scam
Bhopal: Senior Congress leader and GAD Minister Govind Singh on Saturday sought the reopening of dumper scam, in which former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was one of the accused.
While talking to media persons, Singh said, "It is the biggest scam after Vyapam. Dumper scam is big. I demand the state government initiates the investigation in the dumper scam.” "In this scam, millions of rupees are involved. The government has promised for its investigation in its manifesto during the state elections," he said.
Chouhan has been accused of doling out benefits and favours to Jaypee Associates, Rewa, when he was the Chief Minister of the state.
A complaint was filed against Chouhan, his wife and other in 2007 under different sections of IPC including 420 (cheating) and Prevention of Corruption Act following a special Bhopal court's order.
Sapling plantation drive in jawahar bagh
Bhopal: Under the aegis of BHEL Bhopal’s Town Administration Department & District Administration, Bhopal; a massive sapling plantation drive was carried out today in Jawahar Bagh, Govindpura, BHEL, Bhopal. Around 300 fruit-bearing saplings were planted during the drive. On this occasion, Tarun Pithode, Collector, Bhopal; Vandana Sharma, ADM; M Isadore General Manager (HR) BHEL, Bhopal and large number of township residents and employees took active part in the plantation programme.
Speaking on the occasion Pithode said that more such plantation drive is required for clean environment. Isadore in his address said that around 40,000 saplings will be planted during the year in co-ordination with various agencies. He also informed the gathering that almost 100 per cent of the earlier planted saplings is alive.
Singhar to open programme on Int’l Tiger Day
Bhopal: Forest Minister Umang Singhar will inaugurate the state level programme of International Tiger Day in Minto Hall on July 29 at 11 am. On this occasion, Forest Guard Sumeri Lal Yadav will be honoured with the Satpura Landscape Tiger Partnership Hero Award. Singhar will inaugurate the Kingdom of Tigers Photo Exhibition.
Story books 'Baghon ki Kahani-Munna ki Zubani' and 'Bagh Banayen-Bagh Bachaye’ will be released during the programme. The symbol of Sanjay Tiger Reserve will be released. The results of 'Hidden Wilderness of Madhya Pradesh' documentary film contest will be announced. Winning short documentary film will be screened. A short documentary film 'Kingdom of Tiger' by Farhan Khan will be screened.
Regional Director of Kanha Tiger Reserve L Krishnamurthy will give a presentation on 'M-Stripe' for active wildlife management and forest protection in Madhya Pradesh. Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Sanjay Shukla will present short documentary film 'Kanha Tiger Reserve'.
There will be screening of small documentary films and presentations on Human-Wildlife conflict, 50 years of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, relocation of tigers in Panna Tiger Reserve, white tigers etc.
Bal smavad prog to be organised on july 30
Bhopal: A Bal Samvad programme is being organized on July 30 under the aegis of Madhya Pradesh Child Rights Protection Commission and World Vision. In Bal Samvad at local Swashashan Sansthan the representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, police and media personnel will discuss the laws made in the interest of children and reporting etc.
Govt suspends dy commissioner Vishwakarma
Bhopal: The state government has suspended Deputy Commissioner, Co-operatives and the then Managing Director of Bhopal Central Cooperative Bank RS Vishwakarma with immediate effect on finding him prima facie guilty for appropriation of funds in the bank. During the suspension period, his headquarter will be the office of Commissioner, Co-operatives.
Vishwakarma did not carry out appropriation of the bank amount as per instructions of the Reserve Bank of India and NABARD for non-SLR appropriation. Also the bank’s capital was made insecure by appropriation in prohibited companies. Vishwakarma is currently working on deputation in the Rajya Sahkari Dugdha Mahasangh.
