Rise in road mishaps due to flouting rules
Gwalior: PHQ traffic advisor Prafulla Joshi feels it is imperative to pay attention to safety measures to avoid increasing accidents. He presented road mishap figures for the past year at a seminar on Saturday. The seminar was addressed by DSP (Headquarters) Pratibha Tripathi as chief guest, who said road accidents were a matter of concern.
Azamgarh: SI held in murder of BSP leader
Azamgarh: A sub-inspector has been arrested in connection with the killing of BSP leader Sarvesh Singh Seepu in Jiyanpur area. Station House Officer of Jiyanpur police station Vijay Singh was arrested late on Friday night, official sources said on Saturday. Singh has been named in 2 cases, including murder of Seepu Singh, his guard and the killing of 2 persons in police firing later, they said.
Girl set ablaze by 5 men in UP dies, 1 held
Bijnor: An 18-year old girl succumbed to her injuries after she was set ablaze by five men in Uttar Pradesh. Reportedly, the incident took place on July 18 when a group of men threw kerosene on the girl and set her on fire while she was returning home. The girl, who had suffered 95 per cent burns, died during her treatment in a district hospital. Krishan said that one arrest has been made in the case and the probe is in full swing.
