The new girl in B’town Rekha Rana has already become the talk of the town as she hits the century with her second film — Tara: A Journey of love and Passion — which is nominated for the 87th Academy Awards for the best film in foreign language.

Rekha had already made her way through theatres she acted in the play like, Jis lahore Nahi Dekhya.

She did women oriented roles and after that there was no turning back for her.

Recently Rekha was shooting for a music video ‘Sayiyaan’ in Bhopal.

In a rendezvous with The Pioneer, Rekha talked about the music video she shot for and also shared her journey in the film industry.

About the music video she said, “Well, this music video is again a woman centred song. It is a very beautiful song ‘Sayiyaan’ by a young female singer Shaheen Khan. This music video is about a dumb and deaf village girl whose husband is in the Army. This video will take the audience to a journey into a woman’s heart, dreams and emotions, her love for her spouse as she waits for him to return. The best part of this song is that it is presented in a sufiyana andaaz.”

Talking about acting for films and theatre, she said, “There is not much difficulty as such, because being an actor ultimately you have to give your best performance. The only difference is that in theatres you can manipulate the character according to your comfort but for movies you can’t do that in films.”

While expressing her contentment over Tara being nominated for Oscars, she said, “I am very happy for our movie got nominated for the Oscars. It is a really proud moment for our film industry and country. President of Togo sent the film for the nominations and luckily it got selected. I and my team are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best.”

“The story of a banajaran striving to survive in man dominated society Tara is very close to my heart as this film brought me closer to life. Shooting in a village made me realize that we are so blessed and people who suffered with pain and grief lead a real life. ‘Hats off to their spirit’. Director Kumar Raj dedicated this movie to Nirbhaya as he said that ‘It is my candle to Nirbhaya’.”

She further says, “There are filmmakers who do not make films just to entertain people but they make films for their passion towards filmmaking.”

Being a young actor she commented over last episode of Satyamev Jayate where, Aamir talked about females being used as an object in the films, she said, “I totally disagree with this. I feel that everything goes according to the script.”

She says, “In future I am looking forward to work with Aamir Khan. I like his work a lot.” Rekha signs off saying, “I love Bhopal as I have been here before too and I always feel pleasurable visiting this city.”
