Taking preventive action for upcoming state assembly elections, district police started preparations and marked 172 vulnerable places and 322 persons residing in these vulnerable places having criminal record or tendency have been identified.
On August 19 special training was organised at PTRI Bhopal for Addl SP, CSP, SDOP, police station in-charge and concerned officials designated to conduct state assembly elections. Taking preventive action for the upcoming elections in special drive under section 111 of the CrPC action of bound over was taken against 450 accused and 450 cases were registered. Under section 107-116 (3) CrPC a total of 5838 cases were registered and action of bound over was taken against 8504 accused and action of externment was taken against 46 accused and action under NSA was taken against 5 accused from June 1, 2018 to August 26, 2018. Police have taken preventive action against 9005 persons. In another category of preventive actions before state assembly elections under the directives of election commission 540 hooters installed without proper authorization were removed and 26 vehicles were imposed a penalty of Rs 68200 under Motor Vehicle Act. In the drive to check illegal transport of liquor and possession of weapons illegally a total of 1016 cases were registered and 1082 accused were nabbed. In the drive 7620 litre of liquor was seized. Accused carrying arms and ammunition were nabbed in the same period and recovered 7 firearms, 5 cartridges and 283 sharp-edged weapons from 295 miscreants.
