In-charge of Nirbhaya Patrolling team Namita Sahu was caught in controversy after labeling allegations of harassment on woman police station in- charge Pragya Namjoshi on Friday. DIG Shreenivasa Varma said that SI Namita Sahu who was handling the charge of Nirbhaya Patrolling was posted back to Hanumanganj police station where she was posted earlier and was assigned as in charge of Nirbhaya Patrolling.
There was some misunderstanding between Pragya and Namita due to which Namita has been shifted to Hanumanganj police station where she was posted as Sub Inspector earlier, he added. She has raised allegations that Pragya Namjoshi has harassed her for not promoting her during various functions where the Nirbhaya Patrolling team has been felicitated.
Pragya would ask her to work in shifts and should switch off her mobile phone after the completion of the shift. She had also lodged several complaints with the senior officials of Namita. This is not the first time that Namita who became popular as ‘lady Singham’ after she was assigned as In-charge of Nirbhaya Patrolling team was mired in controversies but in the past also she has attracted lot of attention.
Frustrated over constant harassment for the past few months and after facing pressure of improper demands by her senior Namita filed a written complaint with DIG Shreenivasa Varma. Namita Sahu has claimed that she had requested the senior officials to shift to some other police station and remove her from the assignment of in-charge of Nirbhaya Partolling team.
