CM pays tribute to Maharani Lakshmibai
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid floral tributes at the portrait of Maharani Lakshmibai at his residence on the day of her sacrifice. Chouhan paid obeisance and remembered her. Rani Lakshmibai was the queen of the Maratha-ruled Jhansi state and a martyred warrior of the 1857 revolt. At the age of just 29, she fought with the army of the British Empire and was martyred in the battlefield. Lakshmibai was born on November 19, 1828 in Varanasi. Her childhood name was Manikarnika but affectionately she was called Manu. Manu learnt use of weapons along with undertaking education of scriptures in her childhood. In 1842, she was married to the Jhansi’s Maratha-ruled Raja Gangadhar Rao and became the queen of Jhansi. After marriage she was named Lakshmibai. Jhansi had become a major centre of the revolt of 1857. Rani Lakshmibai was martyred on 18 June 1858 while fighting the British army.
CM pays homage to RSS 5th chief K.Sudarshan
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid homage to the fifth Sar Sangh Sanchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh K.S. Sudarshan on his birth anniversary. Chief Minister Chouhan garlanded his portrait at the Chief Minister's residence. Remembering him, Chouhan has tweeted that a good son, who served all his life considering the service and progress of Mother Bharati as his karma and religion, can never be forgotten. K. S. Sudarshan was born on June 18, 1931 in Raipur district. Sudarshan did his engineering in telecommunications. Sudarshan ji was a knowledgeable and wonderful speaker of many subjects and languages. He gave concrete suggestions regarding the Punjab problem and the Assam agitation. The innovations made by him in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh gave a new dimension to the operation of Shakhas. He has an important contribution in the establishment of an ideological organisation called Pragya Vahak. He had special interest in relation to indigenous and traditional experiences and knowledge in the fields of rural development, agriculture, cow rearing and energy etc. His specialty was to go deep into any problem and think profoundly about it and find the right solution for it.
