To observe the International Women’s Day, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) will organise a cultural programme ‘Aaradhya’ here on Saturday. Two events featuring women classical maestros in the world of classical music and dance would be staged at Shaheed Bhawan.

While talking to The Pioneer, Regional Officer of ICCR Nityanand Shrivastava said, “We are organising this event under Horizon series of cultural events of ICCR and is a tribute to all women.” He added that this particular event is a bit different from others as this event showcases only women classical musicians and dancer.

Five renowned classical music maestros would present their show under the section ‘Panchnaad’ and a Kathak dance performance would be staged by Moumala Nayak under Jashn-e-Virasaat. Under Panchnaad artists like Shruti Adhikari from Bhopal, Paromita Mukherjee from Delhi, Smita Vajpayee from Indore, Sangeeta Agnihotri from Indore and Rachna Sharma from Indore would present their jugalbandis before the classical music lovers. There would be a mesmerizing jugalbandi on Santoor, Violin, Sitar, Tabla and Harmonium.

The programme would be like a treat for classical music lovers when noted young Kathak dancer Moumala Nayak would present her compositions. She is an accomplished kathak dancer. An excellent blend of sensuous movement and graceful footwork with absolute control on rhythm describes the performance of Moumala Nayak, a skillful artiste of the lucknow gharana in Kathak. All classical music maestros would enthrall audience with their performance.
