The Institute of chartered Accountants of India Bhopal branch organised a seminar on Union Budget 2018 at Hotel Coutyard by Marriot on Monday. The Chief Guest of the programme was Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Prasanna Kumar Dash.
The programme was conducted by CA Zuber Ullah Khan Secretary and CA Anshul Agrawal, Managing Committee member of the ICAI Bhopal branch. The seminar began with lighting of the lamp by chief guest.
During the seminar Prasanna Kumar Dash discussed about the new provisions of the finance bill. He spoke on the new provisions of the taxation and salient features of Budget. He appreciated chartered accountants of Bhopal for increase in tax collection percentage of Bhopal which is 3% more than average tax collection of the country. He said that the intention of the government is to facilitate honest tax payer.He also appealed chartered accountants to encourage their clients for paying taxes honestly. He said that a government is becoming very strict on tax evasion and tax defaulters may face huge difficulties in nearby future.
In the first technical session of the program CA Rajeev Malhotra of Kanpur discussed about the Implication of Budgets on Taxes and explains about the new provisions of finance bill. He further explained the statistics of the provisions kept for various sectors. He said the Interest rate of banks will probably increase from next year. He emphasized that it’s high time to reduce fiscal deficit because burden of interest is very huge.
In the second technical session of the program CA Shailendra Kumar Porwal of Indore has discussed about various important amendments and provisions in GST and technicalities of ebay bill. He said there is not very major changes in indirect taxes as recently GST is introduced and it’s not settled fully yet.
More than 200 members participated in the seminar on this occasion.CA Abhishek Gupta, Vice Chairman, CA Saurabh Shrivastava Treasurer, CA Navneet Garg, CA Hemant Jain Managing committee members, CA AbhayChhajed Central Council Member were also present.
