On the second day of his campaign for the civic elections, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reached Neemuch to address a public meeting where he exhorted the people present there to ensure Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates’ victory in municipalities, municipal corporations and panchayats.
Chouhan said, “The people of Neemuch trusted BJP in the Assembly and Parliament elections and today I assure you that newer dimensions of development would be set in Neemuch district in the coming five years.”
Chouhan called upon the people to elect BJP in the Neemuch municipality as the earlier Congress regime failed to utilise Rs 90 crore provided by the BJP Government of State for the development of Neemuch city. The Congress regime failed to do a single development work for Neemuch city, he added.
He said that the BJP Government of the State made proper arrangements of water supply for Neemuch city from the nearby Thekriya dam by laying pipeline from dam to city.
On his traditional welcome done by the people of Neemuch the Chief Minister said, “You have honoured me by cladding turban on my behalf I assure that I would never let down the respect and honour of this turban.”
Chouhan showering praise over his party Government at Centre said that only few months after assuming power at Centre the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government contained dearness and corruption whereas the earlier UPA Government only kept on promising of curbing dearness and corruption.
He said many development works were going on in the State. During the Congress regime in State there were no roads from Neemuch to Ujjain and Indore but after assuming power the BJP Government made available all basic amenities including road, water and electricity.
The senior BJP leader said that before the Assembly elections BJP when committed to make the State number one of the country the Congress used to make mockery of them, today he was proud to say that with the growth rate of 11.08 per cent Madhya Pradesh was the number one State of the country.
He also urged the people to call at toll free number to join the BJP as its member.
