Despite having received punishment for his indecent remarks on wife of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan by losing his status of cabinet minister, Vijay Shah on Thursday claimed that he has willingly kicked away the ministership so that the image of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Chief Minister is not maligned.
Interacting with media at his home constituency Harsud on Wednesday night, Shah said that the controversy has been brewed by his opponents. He also demanded that the video tape telecast in several news channels should be investigated and the reality of the conspiracy against him should be brought to light.
"I was under no pressure from the party to resign from the post. I have myself kicked away the post of minister. A leader who is supported by people is not afraid to resign from any position even on minor issues. Only such a leader can become a great man," he said, adding that he took the step to prevent any damage to the image of his party or Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. "
Blaming media for the controversy, Shah said, "What is being shown is not true. This is a conspiracy. I am not hungry for ministership. I am even not blaming the media. It is not that everyone in the media is bad, but there are some bad elements and they are bringing a bad name to everyone. Such people are everywhere, even in politics."
State Congress has written to the National Woman Commission demanding action against the former minister Shah. In the letter, Congress Media Department Chairman Manak Agrawal urged that the use of indecent remarks while addressing a programme during a summer camp in which teachers and girl students were present was not acceptable. The bodily expressions were so vulgar that the girl students found that leaving the programme would be better option to save the dignity. On the occasion, the Jhabua district Collector Jayshree Kiyawat was also present.
In the letter he has alleged that this kind of disgracing act has happened for the first time in the history of the state in which a minister holding a
cabinet berth has expressed himself with obscenity and displayed indecency in a
public place in presence of girl
students and teachers which has damage the dignity of the woman. The matter is of grave seriousness as Shah has commented against the wife of the CM of State Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Sadhna Singh.
The Chief Minister has accepted Shah's resignation from minister's post but the action does not holds good for a person holding responsible and constitutional post and misconduct at this level should be considered as a serious crime.
