At Ravindra Bhavan, the Bhopalites enjoyed the I-Day celebration on Tuesday when the Bollywood singer Sadhna Sargam gave a wondrous performance.
Notably, Directorate of Swaraj Sansthan organised a musical concert ‘Swadhinta Parv’ at Ravindra Bhavan Auditorium on Tuesday. The concert featured noted Bollywood playback singer Sadhna Sargam. It is to be noted that Sadhna Sargam has been awarded the ‘lata Mangeshkar Award’ by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
At the concert, Sadhna presented patriotic songs before Bhopalites remembering the sacrifice of the martyrs and other freedom fighters. She performed the compositions from Hindi movies as well as some of the individual compositions.
Sadhna performed along with his musical troupe from Mumbai and presented a live concert focusing on the patriotism that was much loved by the audience. Along with presenting the patriotic songs, she also entertained her fans with presenting her famous Bollywood tracks as well.
She performed songs like Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaaye, left the audience awestruck. It was a pleasurable evening for the Bhopalites as they enjoyed Sadhna Sargam’s melodious performance.
Prior to Swadhinta Parv, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan unfurled the national flag at Shaurya Smarak.
On the occasion, a film screening was also held at the open air auditorium of Shaurya Smarak. Manoj Kumar’s movie ‘Shaheed’ was screened on the occasion. Directed by SR Sharma the film was released in 1965 with Manoj Kumar as the lead. Shaheed is based on the life of Bhagat Singh.
