Pranahita lIS Package -XI lift irrigation scheme is situated in Telengana State. The scheme when completed would feed water for irrigation in non-irrigated area of Telangana. The project has four Pump and Motor each of 96MW, operating under rated net head of 113.689 m. Design and development of pump suitable for this project was carried out by Hydro lab Engineers.
The Pump Model Test has been successfully done in Hydro lab in presence of Engineers from TSGENCO, I & CAD and MEIl. The test proved the pump capability to meet the guaranteed efficiency, discharge and other guaranteed parameters.
D Suman Kumar (I & CAD) congratulated BHEl and Hydro laboratory in particular for completing the 1st milestone as per schedule and giving higher efficiency than guaranteed. He specially thanked Hydro lab testing for explaining the test in detail.
Dinesh Kumar GM (Hydro) speaking on the occasion said, “Model Testing activity has been completed as per agreed scheduled in spite of this testing being added in test schedule in July’ 2014 and further asked Hydro lab team to maintain the tradition of completing model test in time. He requested customer to finish the project without any further interruptions.
M Mangla, AGM (Hydro lab) declared the result and thanked all associated with Model Test and also especially thanked customer for their co-operation and dedication during Model Witness Test.
The function was attended by staff of Hydro laboratory and other senior officials of other hydro departments. Till date Hydro lab has successfully completed 51 contractual Model Tests. This year model test of all type of turbine Kaplan, Francis, Pelton and lift irrigation scheme pump have been planned.
