Panic prevailed after a 36-year-old woman was found murdered near Ashima Mall under Misrod police station area on Tuesday. Police said the deceased, identified as Basanti Bai, was attacked by spade in her neck which proved fatal. During the investigation, police found that the deceased and her husband, identified as Rajnish Thakur, used to fight frequently but for the past 6-7 days the fight between the two had turned bloody after which deceased’s father arrived and was living with the two for the past 4-5 days. However, on Monday night, he had gone to meet a relative and on his return he found his daughter murdered.
The deceased frequently complained about the atrocities committed by her husband. She once went to a police station with an injured eye and major injury in her breasts, but the police were not ready to pay any heed and refused to take action against the accused. A police officer investigating the case said that suspected accused or husband of the woman was still missing since the incident took place. Misrod police registered a case against the accused and have started further investigation. The neighbours claimed that the couple used to fight fiercely for the past 3-4 days.
