There was a dispute on Friday night in Parwalia police station in Bhopal. Dial-100 policemen who reached to settle the dispute were attacked by the women of Sapera Basti. Later, before the arrival of additional police force, the people involved in the assault fled the house.
The police have registered a case under various sections including assault by taking hostage, obstruction in official work and threatening to kill. In fact, the accused women, along with the men, took the policemen hostage and beat them up.
Both the head constables are undergoing treatment at Hamidia Hospital. Heavy police force has been deployed in the basti.
According to SP Kiranlata Kerketta of Bhopal Rural, Dial 100 had received information last night that there was a dispute between two parties in Sapera Tola Basti. After information, head constable Vinay Dangi and head constable Phoolsingh Meena arrived from the police station along with Dial-100 pilot Rajveer Meena. There is no place for four wheelers to go in the township. Rajveer Meena was standing near the petrol vehicle, fifty meters away from the spot.
Vinay Dangi and Phool Singh went to Meena Basti. They reached the basti and during the enquiry, Vikram, Rahul and Basanti Bai, Vinita attacked the policemen with rods and sticks. Due to the sudden attack, Vinay and Phool Singh ran to save their lives. The accused thrashed both of them fiercely by surrounding them from both sides in the street of the colony.
Raw liquor is made and sold in Sapera Toli Basti. The accused thought that the police had come to seize the liquor and arrest them. Head constables Vinay and Phoolsingh have serious injuries on their hands, legs and head after being attacked with sticks and rods. SP Kerketta said that police teams have been formed to nab the accused. Soon the accused will be arrested.
