As Eid was declared on Sunday evening, a huge crowd accumulated at Eid Mela, Gauhar Mahal. People were seen shopping their hearts out and buying the stuff for themselves on Sunday.
Every time there is a huge opportunity for the Bhopalites to shop something new for them. There are different artists who have brought the specialty of their regions. Around 55 Self Help Groups (SHGs) have participated in this mela.
Besides, there is a huge range of Chanderi and Maheshwari dress materials with the starting range of `600 to `12,000.
There is major collection from Madhya Pradesh such as a variety of Dabu print, Batik, terracotta, Bagh print and jute and leather items like purses and hand bags. Items from Tikamgargh, Neemuch, Dhar, Khandwa, Satna and Ashok Nagar, Rewa, Budni, Gwalior are available as well.
There is also a variety of decorative items, rugs, carpets, imitation jewellery, dress materials, ladies hand-bags, metal crafts, bamboo furniture and sculptures of metal. Besides, there are also flower vase of paper mache, cotton duppatas and carpets too. As the fair is entitled as Eid Mela it has got all sorts of dates, hijab stoles and hijab accessories, Islamic Books as well.
The mela began on June 14 and would conclude here on Monday.
