House of a retired Coal India employee was targeted by miscreants and escaped with valuables worth lakhs of rupees on Tuesday; Kolar police have started investigation.
Police said that the victim Bhagwat Singh Prasad and his wife had gone for some work in the day and when he returned after an hour found the valuables were burgled.
A complaint was lodged by the victim with the Kolar police and in his complaint, he stated that he had gone for some work while his wife had gone to neighbour at around 11 and later after an hour when they returned valuables were found burgled, the locks were broken.The victim claimed that gold and silver jewelry and cash were burgled. The victim has claimed that the total loss in the burglary would be in lakhs of rupees. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 454 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.Police said that the CCTV footage of the nearby installed cameras would be searched in the further investigation. The neighbours were not aware of the burglary.The domestic help and security guard would be quizzed in the further investigation. The burglary was committed in a short period of time which suggests that the miscreants were aware of the whereabouts of the victim.
