The impact of the State Government employees’ strike was starkly evident at the Government hospitals in the State Capital. At the Hamidia hospital, only accident and emergency cases were entertained. All other wards, including x-ray department remained shut for the day.
Most of the Government schools did not open on Tuesday. Exams in universities and colleges across the State were also affected due to the strike. Notably, senior Government officers and Ministers faced a peculiar situation with their drivers on strike. While many officers drove their vehicles, others had to hire private drivers to reach offices.
