A 17-year-old youth died while his friend escaped with injuries after their motorbike was hit by a speeding bus near IPS school under Misrod police station area on Thursday.
According to police, two injured youth were rushed to a nearby hospital where one of the youths was declared dead. The deceased was identified as Vishal Singh while the injured youth who escaped with injuries was identified as Bunty Chouhan. The bus bearing registration number MP04PA1887 hit the motorbike of the deceased which resulted in the death of Vishal.
The body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 304 A of the IPC was registered. The police have started search for the errant driver who went absconding and is still at large.
The errant driver escaped the spot leaving the bus which was later seized by the police. The deceased on his way back to Mandideep with Bunty met the accident. The deceased was a resident of Indra Nagar in Mandideep.
After the accident locals gathered and damaged the bus and later the mob was dispersed after police intervention. Bunty who survived the accident sustained multiple injuries and was later referred to Sacklecha hospital where he is undergoing treatment and is reportedly stable.
The errant driver was drunk or it was a technical fault which led to the accident. It would be investigated in the further investigation. Police said that the deceased used to work at a shop in Mandideep and met accident while he along with Bunty was returning from Bhopal.
