The Congress party has alleged that the Hindu organisations backed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government of the State are creating tension in Madhya Pradesh in the name of Bhojshala.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief spokesman KK Mishra in a statement here on Wednesday said, “The right wing Hindu organizations having support of the state government are spreading tension ahead of Basant Panchmi at Bhojshala in Dhar district of the State. Ram Temple issue at national level and Bhojshala issue in the state have become medium of political trade for the BJP.”

Mishra further said when the BJP came to power in the state in 2003 with the promise that is voted to power the Saraswati idol places in British Museum would be brought immediately and would be installed at Bhojshala in Dhar. “The chief minister candidate of the BJP in 2003 and now union minister Uma Bharti had promised that if voted to power Saraswati idol would be brought back immediately from the British Museum and would be installed at Bhojshala in Dhar.”

He further stated that people of the state trusted her and she became chief minister, after her Babulal Gaur became chief minister and now Shivraj Singh Chouhan is occupying the chair for over ten years. In all thirteen years have passed and in this tenure bringing back and installing the idol is a far thing the BJP government has not even written a single letter to the British Museum to get back the idol, he added. He said this makes it clear that BJP wishes to keep the issue alive for political gains. The senior Congress leader wish to know from Bharti also that why she never wrote to the British Museum for bringing back the idol or was this only an political issue for her to gain power.
