A Hindi play ‘Taarikhien’ based on social issues which are usually overlooked by the society is all ready to wow the theatre buffs of the city.

The play will be staged at Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum on Friday under the series of drama Abhinayan.

The final rehearsals of the play were held on Thursday.

It is to be noted that the play is written by a renowned writer Shahnaz Imrani.

The play is directed by a young theatre director Devanshi Soni Sinha. The play will be performed by the artists of Nat Bundele.

Basically, the play is a collage of poems written by Shahnaz Imrani. These poems are written really lyrically and will be presented in a different style. “Preparing for a poetic drama is not really easy.

We faced much struggles and hardships preparing the play and finally it is ready to be staged,” says the director of the play Devanshi Soni Sinha.

Devanshi said that these poems are a collage, a poetic vision. “These poems written by Imraani show a scene of a society that we often overlook. Working class, digging on the road, cleaning the drains, what is the thinking of this class, what is their ideology about our society.

This is also a mirror that shows this masterpiece,” she added.

There are some complexities in the poems but we have tried to make it a bit easier through actors through scenes. In this play, Devanshi has converted 16 poems into a long play.
