A father’s concern for his family, was showcased through a Hindi play ‘Mere Baad’. The play was staged at Ravindra Bhavan auditorium here in Saturday leaving the audience awestruck.
Directed by a known theatre director of the city Tariq Daad, the play was performed by Nyasa theatre troupe, Bhopal. Notably, the play marked the fourth day of Rang Aviram 2 Theatre Festival.
The play portrayed the life of a middle class family. The father is the bread winner in the family and his wife is a homemaker. His son on the other hand is happy-go-lucky kind of a person and not at all cares what his father goes through. Interestingly, the play was performed by only three artists on stage. The matured acting skills, their appearance, the simple backdrop and the perfect light design added mood to the scenes.
In this family each individual wants to live their life in their own way. Each individual has different aspirations, dreams and rules of life. This play is a mirror of the middle class family, which is a story of generations, where the way to live life is measured according to the age. On the one hand, while the 70-year-old man keeps his own values for life, he is not ready to make any compromise. At the same time, his thirty-year-old son lives according to the present time and live his life on his own conditions. Just because of old age and thinking, both of them are living in a boisterous life. In their conflict, a wife and a mother is stuck between.
