High on Modi, BJP neglecting law and order situation in State: Cong

Expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress has alleged that the lawlessness is because the Bharatiya Janata Party Government has not come out of the hangover of the Assembly and parliamentary election victories.

MPCC chief spokesman KK Mishra in a statement here on Monday said, "The Chief Minister and his council of ministers besides other senior leaders of the BJP are so much busy in praising Narendra Modi that they are completely ignoring the deteriorating law and order conditions in the State. This insensibility has hit the police department most. They have stopped looking towards maintaining the law and order situation and have left the victims on the will of criminal elements."

Mishra, referring to the kidnapping and murder of an 11-year old boy from Rewa district of the State said that the matter was reported to the police well in time but the inactive police failed to provide any help resulting in the death of the boy.

He said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the  self-proclaimed Mama of the children of the State, has stopped worrying for the children of the State. On the one hand, the schemes of mid-day meal meant for the welfare of the children have been handed over to favourite contractors and officers of the BJP leaders who have pocketed all the funds for these schemes and on the other hand, the security of the children has been left on God, he added. He said that it is amazing that the police department was not even awakened after the Chief Minister's mother's chain was snatched in the State capital.
