The high drama in connection with the sodomy case involving former finance minister Raghavji continued on Tuesday. The police official claimed that he was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, but the locals allege that the senior BJP leader was taken in custody on Monday night.

Arti, who works in a beauty parlour run in the same building, told The Pioneer that huge police force including some senior officials reached the place at about 9 pm on Monday and remained there for the whole night in the same flat from where the arrest of the former minister has been claimed by the police. “But it is at about 1pm on Tuesday that they came out with an uncle whom I do not know and took him away with them,” Arti added.

Another resident of the building Ashok Gupta whose flat was locked as he is in the process of shifting and was at his new house, when the police broke open the lock assuming that it was the flat where the former minister was hiding.

Few neighbours informed Gupta in the night that police have broke open his flat. “I took some time to reach the flat and found that the police have sealed my flat and has informed my neighbours that I could collect the keys of my flat from the Koh-e-Fiza police station,” Gupta added.

Meanwhile, the locals informed that the whole area was converted into cantonment right from Monday night, large number of police personnel were deployed along with police officials and senior police officials were also visiting the place every now and then, it appeared that some heinous crime has been committed in the area or some notorious criminal has been rounded up by the police.

However, nobody assumed that Raghavji might be hiding there or the force was there to arrest the former minister. Even when the police came out with Raghavji and took him away nobody knew who he was and why the police have arrested an old looking man. It was only after the media persons started reaching the scene that the locals came to know that it was the disgraced former minister  who was hiding in their neighbourhood.
