With Helmet Awarenes Rally traffic week kicked off on Monday; rally which commenced from Motilal Nehru Stadium was flagged off by MLA Arif Masood and Bhopal IG Jaideep Prasad.
On the occasion along with the Helmet Awareness Rally a Yatayaat Rath was also flagged off. The Yatayaat Rath is aimed to spread awareness among commuters of following rules and regulations of traffic for safe and secure journey.
With the aim to make the citizens aware about the traffic rules and curb number of accidents, deaths and injuries in Bhopal district week long Road Safety week would be observed from February 4 to 10, 2019.
For better implementation emphasis would be laid on better implementation of State Road Safety Policy 2015. The Helmet awareness rally commenced from Motilal Nehru Ground and followed path passing through Roshanpura square, Apex Bank square, Board Office square, Old Jail trisection and concluded at the start point.
Among important points which were shared and raised by police personnel and officials traffic police have appealed to the citizens to abide by traffic rules, wear helmet while riding a two-wheeler and fasten seat belt while driving four-wheeler for safety.
On the occasion Bhopal IG Jaideep Prasad said that the responsibilities of commuters have to be shoulder by them only as agencies could monitor and regulate traffic management system.
Better traffic management is responsibility of every commuter and not of the agencies assigned to manage it said IG Jaideep Prasad while addressing programme at the inauguration of Road Safety Week on Monday.
BMC would take action along with traffic police and would tow vehicles parked in no-parking zone.
DIG Bhopal Irshad Wali gave slogan ‘Sadak Suraksha- Jeevan Raksha’ which he said would be follow rigorously. On the occasion senior police officials, police personnel and citizens were present.
