Monsoon continues to be vigorous over parts of Central India, especially over Madhya Pradesh. The weather system over central India that has been responsible for some good Monsoon rains over the region has now weakened into low pressure. It is now seen over East Madhya Pradesh, and adjoining areas of Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh. During last 24 hours, Madhya Pradesh has observed torrential rains. The eastern region of the state has received extremely heavy rainfall. While the rest part of Madhya Pradesh also witnessed moderate to heavy showers.
As on July 7, West Madhya Pradesh is rain surplus by 34 percent and eastern part of the state stands at 54 percent rain surplus. So, it can be derived that both the regions of the state are enjoying a rain excess at present. The rains are expected to continue for next 3 days which will further intensify the rain surplus of the state as well.
As per met office central parts of the country are expected to receive above normal rainfall throughout the season. The reason for these heavy rains can be attributed to a formation of a depression over northeast part of the state which has now weakened into a well-marked low pressure area. Now, this well marked low will further weaken into a low pressure area. However, it will still continue to give heavy to very heavy rains over many parts of Madhya Pradesh particularly over central and northern parts.
