Health services in MP proving fatal: Ajay

Published on:

leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh has alleged that the health services in Madhya Pradesh are proving fatal for the children, as only in two districts Shahdol and Vidisha, 60 children have died in past one month.

He stated that Vidisha is the same district, which is the constituency of Union Foreign Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan claims to going farming in the same district. However, deaths of 24 children in this district expose health services in Vidisha.

Besides, he expressed surprise that in the tribal dominated Shahdol district, the death toll was 36.

The leader of the Opposition further said that probably BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh was in competition with its counterpart in Uttar Pradesh, where 11 children have died in past one month.

Singh alleged that the deaths of children in such a large scale suggest that malnutrition is continuously on rise in the State and in want of adequate treatment, these children are dying. However, the State government is in deep slumber and not taking any concrete steps to overcome the situation, he alleged.

Besides, Singh said that swine flu has claimed 45 lives till date in the State.

The condition in the main Sultania hospital, meant for delivery, is also facing mismanagement. In this hospital, the newborn had died after the delivery took place in the commode.

Mentioning the reason behind deaths in Shahdol, Singh alleged that there are four ventilators in the government hospital, but in absence of operator, they are lying unused.
