Health for all’ no longer remains limited to a mere slogan in Madhya Pradesh. It has become a reality as the State Health department is committed to provide complete health solutions to even those who are living below poverty line. To make the slogan a reality the State Health department is all set to bring two cases for treatment of poor before the State Cabinet when it meets next.
Principal Secretary, Health, Government of MP Pravir Krishn while talking to The Pioneer said, “In order to follow Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s instructions to look after the health needs of every citizen of the State we have come up with many innovative ways. The latest is that anyone could contact me on my WhatsApp number for any sort of medical help.”
Krishn said, “I have made my WhatsApp number —8989160177 — public on January 27 and since then people started contacting for their medical needs. One Mamta Raikwar, wife of a taxi driver, of Dewas was given up dead by a private hospital contacted me on my WhatsApp was immediately picked up by the health department team and was immediately admitted transferred to the Bombay Hospital in Indore where she was put on ventilator six days back, is off ventilator now and is doing well. She was suffering from after pregnancy complications and her family was not able to bear the cost of her expensive treatment. We instructed the hospital to provide her all possible help without caring for expenses.”
He said that the treatment expenditure of this lady crossed the limits provided to poor patients together under state illness fund and Janni Suraksha scheme so we have decided to put the case before cabinet.
He said similar was the case of Abdul Qadir of Ratlam who’s both the arms was amputated after getting burnt by the high tension electricity line. This boy also belong to very poor family but we took the challenge and now we are working to get his both arms replaced through myoelectric prosthesis that would cost over 13 lakh. In this case also the expenses crossed limit of the state illness fund hence we have decided to put it before cabinet, he added. He said that in both the cases seeing the seriousness we did not waited for the prior sanctions and went ahead for the treatment as life is important and that has to be saved at every cost.
