The High Court has issued orders for Lokayukta inquiry against the Chairman of OBC Commission and BJP MLA Gaurishankar Bisen. A bench of Chief Justice Ravi Vijay Kumar Malimath and Justice Vishal Mishra of the High Court has directed the Lokayukta to take action as per law after examining the complaint.
It is worth mentioning that in the PIL filed in 2012 on behalf of former MLA Kishor Samrite, it was alleged that the state cabinet minister Gaurishankar Bisen did not have any special property in the year 1984. While being MLA and minister, his assets continued to increase. Many valuable properties have been bought in the name of him and his family members and other relatives.
Details of properties given by Bisen to the Election Commission between 2003 and 2011 were also submitted along with the petition. The said petition has been filed as no action has been taken even after giving complaints to the concerned authorities.
The petition said that Minister Bisen bought a flat worth Rs 50 lakh in Pune in the name of his daughter Mausam. Bought a land worth Rs 2.5 crore in front of the Balaghat collector's residence. Bought a land worth Rs 91 lakh in the name of wife Rekha Bisen in the Pateria campus of Balaghat, while she is a housewife. He bought a factory making sanitary pipes for 90 lakh rupees. Purchased agricultural land worth Rs 7 crore near Kothari Dal Mill Garra and 5 acres near Madrasa in Barasivani. In Balaghat, 11 acres of land has been bought as a benami property for crores of rupees.
Due to the indifference shown by the petitioner to the petition, the High Court, taking cognizance of the matter, appointed senior advocate Naman Nagrath as a court friend. In the order passed in June 2014, the Double Bench had directed the High Court Registry to give a copy of the petition to the Lokayukta. The court directed the petitioner to make a representation before the Lokayukta for investigation. The court also had issued instructions to the Lokayukta to investigate the complaint and take action as per law.
