Fisheries Development Minister Antar Singh Arya has said that soon a hatchery would be set up in Barwani district to produce fish seeds. Arya was inspecting fish seed farm and office at headquarters of Madhya Pradesh Fisheries Federation at Bhadhbhada here on Tuesday.

Federation's MD UK Subuddhi and Director Fisheries UK Purohit were also present on the occasion. Reviewing various state and Central government welfare schemes, Arya said that production of fish in Fisheries Federation's reservoirs is much more than national average production.

Efforts should be made so that the fish production comes at par with international average.

Arya directed that proposals as per availability of land should be prepared in the remaining 20 districts which do not have hatcheries for producing fish seeds.

Minister Arya inspected components overhead tank, spawning pool, incubation pools and spawn collection pool of the hatchery for producing fish seeds 'Spawn' at fish seed farm at Bhadbhada.

Arya also planted a sapling of Rudraksh on the premises of Fisheries Federation office.
