Has BJP failed to shield Chouhan?

Is Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan losing confidence of his partyIJ

Chouhan, facing direct attack from the Opposition Congress over the multi-crore MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam, is

feeling isolated as the ruling BJP is apparently making no effort to shield him. This development is causing both a sense of anxiety and hurt at 6, Shayamla Hills.

The State government and the Chief Minister are facing allegations in connection with the MPPEB scam and

irregularities in MP Public Service Commission (MPPSC), but the ruling BJP is not taking any interest in safeguarding its CM.

The BJP has a team of four spokespersons, including chief spokesman Vijendra Singh Sisodia and Rameshwar Sharma, Vishwas Sarang and Deepak Vijayvargiya.

Ironically, none of these leaders was present at the State BJP headquarters for putting forth the stand of the party over the issue. The media persons reaching there found it difficult to get the version of the party over the issue, on camera.

The Congress party recently came out with fresh allegations that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his relatives are involved in the scams related to MPPEB and MPPSC. However, the issue was not dealt with strongly either by the State Government or the party organisation.

one of these spokespersons turned up to safeguard the government over the issue. The Transport Minister, Bhupendra Singh did come out with the clarification on the single point that none of the candidates selected on the post of constable in his department belonged to Gondia, the home town of the Chief Minister’s wife Sadhna Singh.

Besides, over the same issue, former MlA Shailendra Pradhan, who is considered close to Union Minister Uma Bharti had recently attacked directly on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, without naming him, that in the MPPEB scam, the captain would have to take the responsibility, like in any team the credit of victory or defeat goes to the team captain.

On the contrary, the Congress has intensified its attack on the Chief Minister by convening another press conference alleging that the Chief Minister got daughter of his sister recruited in the PSC by sidelining the rules and regulations. In the series, the Youth Congress gheraoed the CM House on Friday, over the same issue.

On Friday, in the absence of the spokespersons, newly-elected Member of Parliament Alok Sanjay came for the rescue of the Chief Minister over the issue. He claimed that the Congress is leveling baseless allegations only to malign the image of the Chief Minister.
