Hariprasad speaks against comparing Rahul with Modi

Congress General Secretary and Madhya Pradesh In-charge BK Hariprasad on Sunday said that it is improper to compare the party's "youthful leader" Rahul Gandhi with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who is busy marketing himself these days.

"A firm person does his or her work while remaining at home but a person who is not strong goes out in a quest for a post. Modi is finding himself in the latter situation these days," he told journalists here.

The BJP has not announced him as a candidate for the Premier's position but Mr Modi is going ahead to take the post, Hariprasad quipped while claiming that  on the other hand Gandhi is endeavouring to make the common man strong.

"Groupism is the Congress is nothing new. It has been in existence since the struggle for independence. Once Mahatma Gandhi lost an organisational election to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. It is a difference of opinion not a difference of minds. Such a situation may be existing in some states," he said.

On the BJP's work in Madhya Pradesh, Hariprasad said that the state is far behind several others on the development front.

"Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan only makes announcements but there is no implementation. There are no infrastructure facilities. The state is also constantly going backwards when it comes to law and order, roads, power, water etc," he alleged.

Chouhan says at every forum that the state is being made numero uno but the work being done is exactly the opposite, Hariprasad said while adding that it is the reason why major companies are heading elsewhere.

"Even foreigners are stunned to observe Karnataka's progress and Bangalore is named as the Silicon City," he claimed.
