Harassed by a Sub-Inspector posted at Kolar police station, a first-year student of a private engineering college committed suicide by jumping in front of a train near Chetak Bridge under MP Nagar police station area on Friday. The deceased’s uncle alleged that the police officer harassed the deceased which forced him to take the extreme step.
Family members of the deceased have alleged that Sub-Inspector posted with Kolar police station RK Makolia used to harass the deceased.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and the police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
The deceased was identified as Ajay Khatarkar who was pursuing his engineering from TIT College. Ajay shared the harassment with his uncle Bhauroa and told him that the Makolia was harassing him.
Bhaurao claimed that SI RK Makolia posted with Kolar police station used to harass the deceased. Makolia used to frequently call the deceased and would threaten him regarding involvement of his name in a bullying and physical assault case which forced the deceased to take extreme step.
Bhaurao also claimed that he had told Makolia if Ajay’s name in their in any assault case he should arrest him and he will bail him out but Makolia used to constantly harass the deceased.
The deceased went missing after he left the home in the evening and before leaving he told that he is going to visit his friend. Police were informed after the body was spotted by the locals in the morning. The deceased was a resident of Kolar.
