Over half a dozen persons were injured after a fight between children turned violent when parents attacked with wooden sticks and iron rods at Gareeb Nagar on Sunday.
In the locality panic prevailed in the night on Sunday after two families entered a fight which was a consequence of a dispute between children during the day and it was pacified by the locals.
According to the police, on Sunday there was a fight between children of Jyori Korpat and Nirmala Sharma and which was soon joined by the two women.
The locals intervened and pacified the fight. In the evening at around 8 in the evening two families started abusing and started to fight, this time it was violent as men of these two families entered with wooden sticks and iron rods.
Kapil, Shubham, Nirmala, Sapna, Tripti and other entered Jyoti's house and attacked them and in return Jyoti, Ayush, Akku,Rinku, Sagar, Vijay, Arun, Sidharth, Jay and Vijay attacked the family. More than six persons are injured and are undergoing treatment at the hospital. The condition of the injured persons is stable.
Police have registered a case of assault and rioting against both the families and started an investigation. The families were engaged in verbal abuse at the police station also.
