Hailstorm, rain: Game changers in lS polls

Published on:

The suffering from hailstorm and untimely rain that hit farmers in the State would be an important issue to fetch votes in the upcoming lok Sabha elections. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has chalked out a strategy in this regard.

Senior party leaders have asked the BJP workers in far-flung areas to visit villages and inform the farmers about the relief being provided by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. They have also been asked to intimate the farmers that the Central Government is not concerned about their difficulties.

Party sources claimed that besides Ministers and party legislators, ruling party office-bearers have also been asked to visit the affected farmers in the villages. These leaders have been given responsibility of informing the farmers about the prompt initiatives taken by the State Government in their interest.

Keeping in view the upcoming lok Sabha elections, the leaders would also inform the farmers that even the Union Ministers from Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia did not take any initiative in providing relief to them.

Besides party leaders, Ministers and MlAs, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was among the ministers who visited farmers in Tikamgarh district and his wife Sadhna Singh was in Vidisha on Saturday. Both assured the farmers that the State Government will provide support to them at the time of crises.

Political observes feel that in the present situation that arose due to hailstorm and untimely rain, the State Government would leave no stone unturned in providing relief to the farmers and try to get benefited in the upcoming elections. However, for the purpose, the Government would have to maintain transparency in conducting survey and there should be no delay in the compensation distribution.

If any irregularity is committed, the BJP might face adverse effects in the elections scheduled for next month.
