Habibganj police have nabbed a miscreant who sexually assaulted and exploited 14-year-old girl for six months in the name of prayer for saving home from evil spirits.
Police have arrested Nihal Baig alias Mirza who used to physically abuse the girl for the last 6 months. The accused had promised to clear troubles faced by the family by prayers.
He called the girl on the pretext of prayer and sexually assaulted her by locking inside the room. After that he continued the same for six months. He used to tell her that if she follow her then there will be progress in the house and family would get rid of troubles.
Girl is a student of class 10th and lives in a rented room with family in Arera Colony. The victim's father had made an online education portal before the lockdown but he suffered losses due to the lockdown, due to which he started living under stress. Meanwhile, Nihal Baig alias Mirza, a fruit seller in the area offered to help by prayers.
Mirza asked the victim's father the reason for being upset and he told that he is in debt and his work is not going on. Mirza offered to remove problems with prayers. Twice a week he used to offer such prayers with one member of family and sexually assaulted girl in this manner. The accused started abusing her physically. The accused Mirza is a resident of Uttar Pradesh. After getting information about the incident, UP was trying to escape but police arrested him from the old city.
