Gwalior Govt schools to get more facilities, better teaching quality

Published on:

After years of apathy, the Government schools in Gwalior are set to get improved facilities like air- conditioners and better teaching quality. In this connection, the District Administration, under the leadership of the collector, has taken some concrete steps to provide better facilities to school-going children in Government schools.

As per the decision, taken by the officials of the District Administration, they will donate one day’s salary to buy air- conditioners for one middle school and one anganwadi. These two institutions will be developed as model schools. Apart from renovating, most of the class rooms in the Government-run schools, the administration has also initiated plans to upgrade the anganvadis to play schools. Speaking to the media persons, Collector Anurag Chaudhary said that most parents do not consider government schools because of the perception that the quality of teaching in those schools is not up to the mark.

He added that the current effort is a small step towards changing that perception. He also said that the next step in this connection is to air- condition as many schools as possible in the district.
