The Gwalior city is facing big problems due to mismanagement of the municipal corporation. In this regard, it is alleged that the citizens are facing problems due to free roaming of animals and open chambers on the main road.
On the contrary, the Municipal Corporation has filed the challan in the court and said they have repaired the chambers and catching the animals. Also Municipal Corporation of Gwalior has claimed of removing the encroachment.
High Court has given instructions so many times to Municipal Corporation to remove the encroachment. But Municipal Corporation has not followed the instruction of the Court, neither have they removed the encroachment nor Municipal Corporation have taken control over free roaming animals.
The report presented by Municipal Corporation in which they have mentioned that some chambers belongs to PHE department and some poles are related to BSNl, so it is not in the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation to take the action.
Senior lawyer H.D Gupta has filed the petition in 2002 about the encroachment, problems in traffic due to electricity and telephone poles, free roaming of animals on the road etc.
After hearing on the petition court has given the instruction in 2007 to Municipal Corporation Gwalior to remove the encroachment and also take action against the animals, telephone poles and electricity poles which are causing problems to the citizens of the Gwalior.
