While reviewing the system of production and distribution of AYUSH drugs in the State, Governor Lalji Tandon said that there should be wide publicity about AYUSH medicines which protect from Corona virus and increase immunity in citizens.
He laid special emphasis on efforts for study and research for its treatment.
In the review, Production Manager of AYUSH drug manufacturers Vindhya Valley BS Pillai said that the production of Ayush medicine is being conducted effectively.
During this period of crisis, AYUSH medicines worth Rs 2.20 crore have been supplied. Presently there is storage of medicines worth Rs one crore.
He informed that the work of supply of medicines worth Rs 9 crore is being done by Vindhya Valley.In-charge Deputy Director AYUSH Dr Rajiv Mishra informed that AYUSH has distributed 78 lakh kits of immunity-enhancing drugs of Homeopathy,
Unani and Ayurveda from March 3 till now. Study and research of traditional medicines is being conducted by Pandit Khushilal Ayurved College under direction of Department of AYUSH of the Central Government. He informed that college is also studying results and effects of drug distribution work in rural areas.
He informed that posters and pamphlets of suggestions have been distributed by Department of AYUSH to increase immunity of Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Unani systems of medicine.
