Governor Ram Naresh Yadav, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, leader of Opposition in Assembly Satyadev Katare and other leaders of the State have expressed profound grief over the death of eminent litterateur and journalist Khushwant Singh.
In his condolence message, Governor Yadav said that spheres of journalism and literature have suffered an irreparable loss in Khushwant Singh’s death. He earned worldwide fame as litterateur, historian and journalist. He was conferred Padmashri and Padmabhushan for his outstanding contribution to literature and education.
Governor Yadav said that late Khushwant Singh was known for his boldness, nationalism and candidness. He was a man of truth and honesty. That is why he was given the title “Honest Man of the Year” in year 2000.
The Governor has prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in his message on twitter said, “Saddened by the news of passing way of noted author Khushwant Singh, my condolences to the family. An era comes to an end.”
Chouhan prayed for the peace of the departed soul and extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
leader of opposition in state assembly Satyadev Katare expressed grief on the demise of noted writer and journalist Khushwant Singh. Katare in his message on the occasion said that Khushwant Singh was a great legend and master of creative writing. He would always be remembered for his great work, he added.
He prayed for the peace of the departed soul and extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president and MP Narendra Singh Tomar said Khushwant Singh was one of the most prominent authors, commentators and journalists of the country. He would always be remembered for his wide range of literary works.
Tomar further said that his demise has created an irreparable loss to the field of journalism and literature, the Chief Minister stated, while extending his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president and MP Arun Yadav said very sad to hear of the death of Khushwant Singh - great historian, novelist, editor, columnist, and a wonderfully kind, generous man. "In the death of Khushwant ji, we have lost a true stalwart of India and a superb author and journalist, Yadav added while extending his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
