My parents and I have no money to repay my education loan which was taken after my selection in the PMT entrance examination in the year 2011 and got admission in lN Medical College,” said third year student of lN Medical College Bhavesh Nair at a hotel in MP Nagar while speaking with the media persons on Wednesday.
A group of students, whose admissions to the MBBS course were cancelled for allegedly clearing the PMT entrance examinations using ‘unfair means’ have decided to fight against the injustice faced by them.
“After investing lakhs of rupees and three years of time I am left with only fear of a rusticated student who has been expelled for using unfair means, but factually, the investigating agency does not have any base to prove that I have committed cheating,” added Nair.
The fees at that time was around `3.51 lakh which he was not able to pay and took education loan, said Nair.
Neha Verma a Pre Final year student at MGM Indore College who was vocal during the press meet told that the all the arrangements of the examinations and admissions from the beginning till the end is handled by the MPPEB and students are blamed by MPPEB which is ridiculous. The MPPEB is only acting in such a manner to shield big wigs by making innocent students beast of burden.
Anti-Government and anti-MPPEB slogans were raised during the press meet by the group of students.
Another member of the protesting group Nisha Chouhan who is an Intern at the Gandhi Medical College said, “After so many years they have detected the use of unfair means using some software which is not acceptable. The culprit students are let free after collecting a hefty amount of money and the poor and innocent students are charged falsely.”
“Around 90 per cent students from the SC/ST categories who belong to deprived families and there is no question that they could do such things. Earlier MPPEB claimed that the data before 2012 has been lost but suddenly they found the data used software and provided names of the students who have used unfair means and have expelled them,” said infuriated Verma.
