In view of growing number of thefts in trains, the GRP would make announcement to alert the passengers. The criminal’s incidents are increasing during the marriage season and summer vacations in the train.
In such cases the passengers have been found irresponsible for their security. Several cases have come in the notice that the passengers themselves forget their luggage and come to the GRP to lodge the complaint. Formerly the responsibility of alerting the passengers during the journey rested with RPF but in view of growing incident of thefts in the train the responsibility would rest with GRP also.
The police station in charge Gwalior RBS Vimal said that most of such cases have come to notice whether the passengers themselves forget the luggage and lodge the report of theft in police station. Many times the luggage is found on other station. Such incidents can be checked if the passengers remain alert. GRP would alert the passengers by making announcement.
