Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday claimed that his ongoing Jan Ashirwad Yatra was getting unprecedented support in the form of people’s blessing.

Chouhan talking to media persons in Sarni said, “Congressman used to say that elections are not won on the basis of development instead the election is won through management and that is why they (Congressman) ruined the State.”

Chouhan further said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government of the State by doing unparalleled development works in the field of power, roads and water in a proper plan, brought up the State in the line of frontal States of the country.

He said that the only work of Congress was to level baseless charges to mislead the people of the State, it did not have any concern with the development nor did it have any vision over development. People of the State were very well aware of this fact, he added.

The Chief Minister said that the Congress and the Central Government were not serious and sensitive toward Madhya Pradesh; they always discriminated with the State. The condition of national highways passing through the State was extremely poor and the Central Government was continuously doing politics over this issue, he added.

The Chief Minister counting achievements of his Government ever since it assumed power in the State told that over 95,000 kilometer roads had been constructed, round the clock electricity has been made available in villages, irrigation area had been increased and the works done since 2003 were many fold higher than the works done by Congress during its 55 years rule over the State.

He said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had accepted that electricity was required for development, Madhya Pradesh Government has done innovative works in this field and it had become self reliant in the field of power. This would help establish cottage industries in the villages and the condition and direction of villages would also improve, he added.

Meanwhile, the Jan Ashirwad Yatra of the Chief Minister passed through Chhindwara district on Friday and he addressed public meetings at Chorai, Amarwada, Junnardev, Gudi, Iklehra and Parasia where he exhorted the people to vote for BJP for the continuous development of the State.
