As many as 48 students of GR Medical College, who were earlier suspended after they were found in suspected category, can now be dismissed.

These students did appear before the committee to give their statements to the medical college committee even on the last day. It is stated that due to the presence of Special task Force (STF) of Madhya Pradesh police, who is investigating the case, the students did not go to the college.

All these suspected students belong to 2006 to 2010 batches. Complying with the high court order, the dean GRMC has ordered to dismiss all the 48 medical students.

In fact, there are 118 medical students of 2006 to 2010 batch against whom the cases were prepared. Out of 118 students 66 have registered their statements and four students- Deepesh Khare, Rajkumar Kothari, Manyank Sharma and the wife Surendra Morya presented herself before the college committee with applications.

Now, the action is being taken against 48 students. None of the students in their statements confessed their crime. On receipt of green signal from high court and DME action to dismiss them would be taken.

The dean GRMC Dr GS Patel said that the statements of the students would be sent to the high court Jabalpur and DME.

Dr Patel said that according to high court order the students had to present their defence and were given the opportunity but out of 118 students 48 students did not come to register their statements. So, we are compelled to take one sided action.
