Depressed over his wife’s death, a 55-year-old man committed suicide by hanging from a tree at Sarwar village under Ratibad police station area on Thursday.
According to the police, the man was found hanging at farms and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. The deceased was identified as Vijay Goud of Seoni Chhapra and used to work as labour in Sarwar village.
Police said that the deceased had gone to his village few days ago along with his son and returned alone around 4-5 days back. He told his son that he would work in the city and would stay there and left the village.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
The deceased used to work at farms. Police have not recovered any suicide note which could help in establishing the reason behind the suicide.
During the investigation police found that the deceased used to remain depressed for the past few days but the reason of his depression was not shared by the deceased.
Wife of deceased died three months ago due to burn injuries and later the deceased used to remain depressed over his wife’s death.
Police have not found any marks over the body which could raise suspicion over the death. The reason remains unknown claimed the police. Police said that wife of deceased had died after sustaining burn injuries in December 2015.
