Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that “Gramoday Se Bharat Uday” campaign is a Mahayagya for the development of villages and welfare of the people. Public Representatives and Officers must work hard to make it successful. No eligible beneficiary should be deprived from the benefits of the schemes.

He was addressing the officers of the state and public representatives through video conferencing at Mantralaya today. Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Gopal Bhargava, Minister of State for Cooperatives (Independent Charge) Vishwas Sarang, Chief Secretary BP Singh and other Senior Officers were present on the occasion.

Chouhan stated that this multi-objective campaign will start from April 14, the birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and will continue till May 31. He called upon the public representatives and officers to get engaged with full interest for the betterment of villages and villagers like they have played an active role in this campaign last year. This is a golden opportunity for the welfare of poor.

Intensive efforts for poor’s upliftment and to increase their earnings upto 10 thousand minimum should be made. They should be provided benefits of various state government schemes as per the eligibility. Remaining numbers of beneficiaries should be reduced to nil in each panchayat.

Chouhan said that two years action plan for village infrastructure development works should be made keeping in view the available resources during the campaign. At least one water body should be restored and one new should be constructed in each village. Water conservation works should be carried out immediately without any delay.

Terming the Jalabhishek as an important component of the campaign, he urged to undertake works related to restoration of ponds and revival of rivers. He issued directives to prepare long term schemes towards permanent solutions for potable water problems and to make proper arrangements of potable water during the summer. He mentioned that potable water transport arrangement should be made wherever it is necessary.
