The president of System Parivarthan Adhikari Karmachari Sanghatan (SPAKS) and India Forest Services (IFS) officer Azad Singh Dabas has questioned the intentions of the administration in checking corruption.
Citing the recent directives of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the State cabinet in which he had stated that he would not let corruption prevail, Dabas wrote a letter to Chief Secretary Anthony DeSa, stating that the Chief Minister has political will to check the corruption, but the administration is not working on this line.
He pointed out that when he was Chief Conservator of Forest (CCF) posted in Gwalior, in Gwalior and Morena forest circles he tried to stop the illegal mining of boulders and sand in many ways. “For the past four years, I have been making efforts for action against forest department employees and officials who are engaged in illegal mining, but the authorities turned deaf ears on my demands,” he added.
Dabas further alleged, “It is really painful to acknowledge that none of the departments in the State is free from corruption as a result the development of the state is getting hindered.”
In a statement to media, he stated that as the organization is working against corruption, it welcomes this pledge from the Chief Minister and requests everyone to act in accordance with this motto of ‘Would not let corruption prevail’ and turn the State into Golden Madhya Pradesh. Also take immediate action against the officers who have committed economic offences and irregularities so that a message of intolerance against corruption can be sent.
