Govt urged to take action against MP Eco Tourism Board officials

Wildlife and tiger activist Ajay Dubey has urged the State Government to take strict action against Madhya Pradesh Eco Tourism Board for making efforts to establish illegal zoos in Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Sagar and Gwalior.

Dubey in a statement here on Sunday said, “The officers of the MP forest department at the place of improving desecrated conditions of forests and wild animals are engaged in violating rules and regulations for monetary benefits  and are doing their willfulness doing illegal constructions on government forest land by expending huge Government money.”

Dubey further said that recently Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of state government’s establishment MP Eco Tourism Board Vinay Burman fearlessly flouted the Wildlife Conservation Act 1972 called from Chief Conservator of Forests of Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Sagar and Gwalior by calling proposals for establishing zoo over 80 hectare of land. The complaint of that was made with the chief wildlife warden, he added.

He said that on getting the complaint the chief wildlife warden Ravi Shrivastava issued show cause notice to Burman on April 7. It is clear from the letter of Shrivastava that Burman is not authorised for establishing zoos and his conduct is against law, he added.

The wildlife activist said that we demand from the Madhya Pradesh Government to take strict action against Madhya Pradesh Eco Tourism Board CEO Burman. Currently the Board is engaged in

construction of illegal tiger reserve in the buffer zones of Pench and Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserves due to that tigers and other wild animals have opened to serious danger, he added.
